What's Happening

SATURDAY: 7AM - Noon - Race teams arriving in Copper Harbor

Join us in Copper Harbor on Saturday, March 13th, for an exciting day of family fun.  Race teams will begin arriving around 7:00AM completing their nearly 100-mile back-country trek from Calumet to Gay to Copper Harbor.  If 7:00AM is too early for you, don't worry, race teams will be coming in all morning form 7:00AM until noon. 

SATURDAY: 2PM - 3PM - Race teams meet and great

Take a break at noon and enjoy lunch at one of the many find dining establishments Copper Harbor has to offer.  After lunch meet these super-star mushers and their amazing dog-teams from 2:00 - 3:00PM and join in a few fun activities. 

SATURDAY: 3:30PM - Mid-Race Mushers Banquet 3:30PM

The Mariner North is hosting the Mushers Mid-Race Banquet at 3:30PM which is open to the public.  The Mariner North will have their full menu available plus a delicious buffet.  Mushers have a brief meeting at 4:00PM which is also open to the public.   Mushers, handlers, families and friends would have an opportunity to get together for a meal, swapping stories, and strategizing how to finish the race strong.  The Mariner North will be serving food until 10:30PM or when demand ends.  They will also have music starting at 8:00PM featuring "Jimmy Hats".

SUNDAY: 9AM - 10AM - Race teams depart for Calumet

Race teams embark on the last leg of the race departing Copper Harbor, on Sunday between 9AM and 10AM.  Teams will be departing at 2-minute intervals.  This will be a great opportunity to watch all of the teams ride off to glory.  Don't miss it.

Sports Massage Available

Spirit of the North

Johanna Peters from Spirit of The North Massage will be providing sports massage in Copper Harbor for the mushers all day Saturday. Johanna will be stationed inside the Mariner North from 1-9 P.M. Stop in and get your back and those hamstrings stretched out! Massage will be $1.00 a minute with a minimum of 10 minutes. For more information email Johanna or call 906-289-4363.
