    What is the CopperDog Challenge?

The CopperDog Challenge is a fundraising competition designed to generate publicity and funding for the CopperDog 150 sled dog race to be held March 12-14 2010 in Calumet, MI.  Participants in this event will also gain exposure with frequent media updates in the local paper, radio, and websites. The event will take place the entire month of January and possibly into February if needed to complete the competition.

    Who should take the challenge?

Ideal contestants for the CopperDog Challenge are local businesses who are not in a position to make a sizable monetary donation, but can support the race by generating funding from their high customer traffic.

    How does it work?

Paw PrintLocal businesses are encouraged to recruit a "musher" for their team. Care should be given in this selection because this can quickly become a personality contest, with people actually travelling to "your" business to support their favorite racer and therefore, your "team". Ideal candidates would be: business owners, school principals, public servant, politicians, popular artist, anyone really.

The CopperDog Challenge is a race. The goal is to sell as many "paw prints" as you can. The paw prints sell for $1 each.  It takes 150 paw prints to finish the race, but don't stop there, sell as many paw prints as you can.

Standings will be reported on the Friday of each week for publishing online and in local media. Winners will be determined by which business sells the most paw prints during the competition in each competitive class.  Classes include Grocery Stores, Restaurants & Cafes, Gas Stations, and Retailers.

Does this really make a difference?

Yes!  Competing in the CopperDog Challenge is not only great fun and a wonderful promotional opportunity for everyone involved,  its also a key source of funds for making this inaugural running of the CopperDog 150 a success.  Thank you for getting innvolved!
