Race Cancelling Policy

The CopperDog 150 relies on Mother Nature to provide safe and suitable trail conditions for our event.  Past experience has shown that we may need to change our trails, shorten the route, or make some other modification of the race to accommodate less-than-perfect conditions.  In the event of bad weather or poor trail conditions the CopperDog 150 will make every attempt to adapt the race as necessary.  Although it is very unlikely, it is possible that the race may need to cancelled entirely due conditions which are deemed unsafe.  If the race is cancelled, the CopperDog 150 will offer full or partial refunds of sponsor donations per the following policy.

Because of pre-race spending in preparation for the event, the CopperDog 150 may be unable to fully reimburse sponsors for all donated funds.  At the time of cancellation the CopperDog 150 will compare available funds raised during the 2011/2012 season to the total donations received to determine the rate of refund that is possible.  For instance, if $10,000 of donations were received in the 2011/2012 season and available funds is $8,000, the CopperDog 150 will offer an 80% refund rate to sponsors.  Alternatively, sponsors may decline the refund and have their sponsorship and support continue through to next season. 

Sponsors who elect to keep their funds invested in the CopperDog, will continue to be advertised and promoted by the CopperDog 150 web site up to and through the 2012/2012 season and race.  Sponsors who take the refund will be removed from the web site.
